Sarawak Esport League – more than just gaming tournaments.
SESA is taking the initiative to spearhead the first ever Sarawak Esports League. The planning of the said League is well under way with the formation of a special committee to study and finalise the league format, game play, and the rules and regulations. SESA plans to kick off the Sarawak Esports League by the first quarter of year 2020.
The Mission of the Sarawak Esport League is to provide significant value to the esports industry. Besides grooming professional e-athletes, SESA is working on creating education/career opportunities in the esports industry, and also to encourage more local/overseas business investment opportunities into Sarawak via the esports community. This league will also help our valuable e-athletes to gain more fan base both locally and internationally. It will also boost the popularity of their esports clubs hence creating a measurable market value for both e-athletes and clubs.
The Sarawak Esports League will only be open to Esports Clubs registered with Persuruhjaya Sukan Sarawak (PJS). Therefore, SESA encourages e-athletes to join or form esports club by registering with PJS. Registered Esports Clubs with PJS are urged to join SESA as affiliated members to be entitled to enjoy special privileges at all SESA’s events and programmes. Application for membership will be announced soon.
SESA wishes to send heartfelt gratititute to YB Datuk Snowdan Lawan’s (Assistant Minister of Youth & Sport Sarawak) generous additional personal sponsorship of RM10,000.00 on top of the league prize pool in support of SESA esport development programme.
