Initiative for Smart City and Industry 4.0 will enable to create a significant development impact in Sarawak and this could be a milestone in which it is also in-line with Sarawak State Government efforts in order to accelerate the development of Digital Economy.
Accordingly RESONICS Consultancy took a bold step to spearhead Smart City and Industry 4.0 by exploring a potential collaboration with University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). For that reason, RESONICS Consultancy developed a strategic direction and acknowledges UNIMAS as an academic and research institution to work on Smart City and Industry 4.0 development in Malaysia.
In a discussion between RESONICS Consultancy and SMECorp, an agency under Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), few findings were established and the needs for more exposure and awareness among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on technology and digitalization have been the primary highlights and this is very important to focus in order to create more competitive and sustainable SMEs in the country.
Besides, Federal Government of Malaysia have also assembled its strength by setting up a satellite operation for Malaysian Global Innovation And Creativity (MaGIC) in Kuching through the investment in Borneo744 project, a hub to accelerate the development of entrepreneurs and creation of more capable SMEs as one of the key strategies in creating more opportunities and as a source of income generation for the people in Sarawak and the country.
